Our Story

My name is Tommy, and I make Tempting Treats.  Disabled since 2013, and trying to pull myself back up by my bootstraps, I'm operating a certified Cottage Food Operation baking in my home kitchen.  The cookie recipes are my own.  The granola and peanut brittle recipes were inspired by a cookbook from the last century, but I've modified them to make them my own.  My recipes are all closely guarded secrets, so you won't find them online, and the treats are only available on my website and at my booths. The menu is small for now, and I bake in small batches for quality control and freshness.  I do the baking myself, but my spouse helps with the packaging, selling, and of course eating of the treats.

My disability taught me firsthand the challenges experienced with food allergies and dietary restrictions.  That's why the granola is intentionally made with gluten-free ingredients, is non-dairy, has no added sugars, no sodium, no additives, and no preservatives.   The hardest ingredient in this soft granola is the blanched slivered almonds.  This soft granola is a mouthful of yummy comforting joy that's full of nutritional goodness.  I also designed it to mix beautifully in yogurt! One taste and this granola will surely tempt you, too.

The cookie recipes came from feeding my spouse's cookie-monster-like insatiable sweet tooth.  I prefer to bake fresh cookies rather than serve store bought.  So, I rose to the challenge of feeding a cookie monster.  But here's the twist, I wanted to create my own recipes.  That required many test batches which fed the cookie monster's appetite.   The resulting chocolate chip cookie is soft inside, slightly crispy outside, melts in your mouth, and taste incredible.  The Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal cookie is soft and delectable, and tastes just like the cereal because it's made with the real cereal.  It's also made without animal products!  There are more cookie recipes than just the two we're starting with, so there are additional mouth watering cookies to come!

I've been baking for 45 years, and one of the earliest things I started baking was Rice Krispy Treats.  Even at that young age of 8, I started tweaking the Rice Krispy Treats recipe to the chewy texture I wanted.  The resulting Marshmallow Crispy Rice Treats of today are chewy from the first bite to the last, and are made with a perfect blend of butter, marshmallow, and rice cereal.  They're even available dairy-free!

I hope you love my treats as much as my spouse, friends, and family do!

Thank you for visiting the website, and for reading our story.  We look forward to becoming one of your preferred treats destinations.
